The State of Vehicle Electrification – 2nd Edition October 2021
The EMEA EV Indicator
The Climate Group suggests transport is responsible for around a quarter of global energy-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and they believe electric transport offers a major solution in cutting millions of tons of GHG emissions per year. With the market edging toward mass roll-out, corporate fleet is a key focus and is fundamental to the ambition of organisations like the Climate Group and the push for electric transport as the new normal by 2030.
Battery electric vehicle (BEV) registrations expanded by 231% during Q2 2021, whilst Plug-in hybrid registrations jumped by 255%, demonstrating the continued appeal for EVs across EMEA. But which countries are leading the charge toward electrification and which are playing catch-up. To embrace EV technology within a car fleet, particularly one that is pan-European, the operator needs to understand the local conditions within which their people will drive and determine which countries will be more receptive to a push toward electrifying their car fleet.
This is the 2nd edition of the EMEA EV Indicator, updated in October 2021, and includes the latest EV statistics and regulations from across Europe.
