Using Data to Review Fleet Category Cost Across 28 Countries

The Client

A large pharmaceutical client operating in 28 markets across EMEA. This geographic diversity meant they were using various methods to fund and manage such a diverse fleet.

The Objective

The geographic diversity meant the category was dangerously expensive, resulting in the need to grasp control of the critical business processes and ultimately remove cost. Fleetworx’s experience with this type of client meant we were ideally positioned to help them achieve these objectives.

Our Solution

After defining the supplier and stakeholder landscape, we started collecting costs and dynamics data from each member of their 50+ strong supply chain. We also reviewed their internal stakeholders and built a record of  car allowances and other employee related expenses.

Three months from inception the client was able to view, for the very first time, all fleet related expenses in one place, helping them

• Identify synergies that could be explored
• target cost ‘hot spots’
• pursue extensive savings opportunities

The Results

Twelve months on, the fruits of the interventions can be clearly measured against the previous landscape, with substantial savings now being delivered month on month.

Continued data capture, and the subsequent high quality of informative reports, will ensure that the client has all the tools necessary to contain their fleet category costs; whilst all the major stakeholders in the business have top quality fleet information to support their business processes and planning.
